Jason Barnes

Name:
Jason Barnes
Job title:
Lahontan Cutthroat Trout Coordinator
About me:
I am currently a graduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno and newly elected President of the Sagebrush Chapter. My research revolves around Summit Lake, which holds the last remnant population of Lahontan cutthroat trout in Nevada. My passion for conservation extends well beyond the shorelines of Summit Lake to encompass all coldwater fisheries in Nevada and eastern California. By trade I am an aquatic ecologist and entomologist, but I have a tendency to let my work creep into my other passions, fly fishing and art.
Favorite quote:
“Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
